Dear Friend:
Sorry I neglected to write last week. Preparing for the Thanksgiving festivities got the better of me.
This week, on our website, we're offering you a real treat: the text of Howard Zinn's speech he gave in Madison a few months back entitled "The Uses of History." Please read it, savor it, and share it far and wide.
I've also posted two new items.
The first, "Our Sinful Economy," talks about the immorality of our maldistribution of income. From 2000 to 2004, most Americans lost 5 percent of their income, when adjusted for inflation, while those in the top 0.1 percent saw their incomes more than triple!
The second, "Bush Bullheaded to the End," discusses the obtuseness of our commander in chief in Iraq.
I hope you like all three items.
Best,
Matthew RothschildEditor, The Progressive
