Michele Bachmann went into overdrive when she gave her surprise announcement that she's not going to run again.
In a rambling eight minute and 40 second video farewell that she posted, she said that her decision was "not impacted in any way" by the investigations into her futile Presidential campaign.
Just yesterday, Politico ran a story saying that the FBI was joining those investigations. The headline to the story: "Michele Bachmann faces existential threat in 2014."
So she can deny the connection all she wants, but the lady doth protest too much.
She vowed to keep working 100-hour weeks, which may be one reason she seems a little off most of the time.
She played to her rightwing fan base by saying she would continue to "fight to protect innocent human life, traditional marriage, and family values."
From there, she swerved over to the bridge and regional airport she still wants to get built for her district.
And then she careened toward the Obama Administration for being soft on "Muslim jihadist terrorism."
With her usual crude style, she accused the President of turning the entire "Middle East into an evil jihadist earthquake."
From there, she bemoaned the "stifling economic restrictions on banks" and warned that the Democrats were aiming at "the destruction of our entire economic system," adding: "May it never be."
No matter that those banks she pitied were the very ones that caused the Great Recession, and that a lack of "economic restrictions" allowed them to do so.
But facts never bothered Michele Bachmann one bit.
For her, facts have always been just obstacles to be run over.
Minnesota and the country will be much better off without her in power.
