David Shih (@professorshih) is a professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The New Republic, Slate, Inside Higher Ed, Electric Literature, and for NPR's “Code Switch” website. His first book, Chinese Prodigal: A Memoir in Eight Arguments (2023), is forthcoming from Atlantic Monthly Press.
