Pussycat Dolls doll killed, Ken unavailable for comment.
Toy maker Hasbro's plans for a line of dolls based on The Pussycat Dolls has been shelved in the face of parents who don't want kids playing with what they call "stripper dolls." (According to Wikipedia, "the group began as a burlesque dance troupe based in Los Angeles, as well as in Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.")
Susan Linn, the cofounder of the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood, characterized the product cancellation as a grassroots victory over a corporation:
It's really important to know that corporations can be stopped; it really underscores the importance of people working together to stop commercial exploitation of children. [The Pussycat Dolls doll] was a ratcheting-up of the kind of precocious, irresponsible sexuality that is being marketed to little girls.
