Dear friend:
Impeachment is in the air, so I've posted a four-point indictment that you can now read on our website. It's called "Grounds for Impeachment," and I encourage you to send it around to all your political friends.
I'd also like to make available to you Molly Ivins's great column in our March issue, "Enough of the D.C. Dems." She takes on the DLC and Hillary and "every calculating, equivocating, triangulating, straddling, hair-splitting" Dem she can find. As she puts it, "This is not a time for a candidate who will offend no one; it is time for a candidate who takes clear stands and kicks ass." (Already, readers are praising Molly to the high heavens for this one!)
In a similar vein, Ruth Conniff wonders how hard can it be for Democrats to come up with a winning stragegy. In her latest posting, "Wanted: A Democratic Plan," she says it should take all of five minutes.
If the Dems can't pick up seats in November, they should pack it in. How hapless are they? It should be as easy as selling popcorn in the movie theater.
As always, I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Matthew Rothschild
