Boy, the leaders of the Tea Party sure have a lot of gall.
There they were on Sunday at the World War II Memorial, condemning President Obama for closing the memorial.
But Obama did this, of course, not because he doesn't respect vets or doesn't revere the so-called Greatest Generation, but because Tea Party Congressmen won't fund the government, so he's had to cut all non-essential services.
Tea Party leaders know this, but that doesn't stop them. Take Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, please. After leading the Tea Party charge, he was one of the keynote speakers at the rally at the War Memorial, saying: "Why is the federal government spending money to erect barricades to keep veterans out of this memorial?"
Now it doesn't take a genius to figure out that it costs the government less money to erect the barricades than to keep the memorial open, but no one has ever accused Cruz of being anything close to a genius.
And get this: Cruz then accused Obama of playing politics with the War Memorial. Wow, what a hypocrite!
Cruz and Sarah Palin, who also spoke at the Tea Party rally, are peddlers of ignorance and hatred.
And they should be careful with this brew they're stirring. One person at the rally carried a confederate flag, another told Obama to "put down the Quran and come out with your hands up."
Watch out: This tea is poisonous.
