Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker was elected in November 2010 largely on the strength of a promise—to create 250,000 new private-sector jobs by 2015, the end of his first term.
His original news release containing this promise was posted online until the end of 2012, after Walker survived a recall election. But by mid-2013, as it became clear that Walker would not achieve his goal, this link began taking readers to otherpages, which did not mention jobs. (By the way, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Wisconsin added 131,515 new private sector jobs during Walker’s first term, 53 percent of his mark.)
Here's what the link to his press release about the jobs he didn't create linked to as of this morning. If you click on "treasure chest" you will be taken to a donation page for his campaign.
