Invincible is a rare artist: her spitfire wordplay has gotten her acclaim from Hip Hop fans across the world, while her active involvement in progressive social change has taken her music beyond entertainment, and towards actualizing the change she wishes to see. Case in point: this "docu-music-video" for her collaboration with fellow Detroit rapper Finale, the amazing "Locusts." Highlighting the complex and insidious forces of gentrification taking place in the deindustrialized Motor City, Invincible showcases her skills on the mic but also interviews neighborhoods residents and long-time activists, including her mentor, Grace Lee Boggs.
Watch the video and mark your calendar for June 22-26, when Invincible and thousands of activists will converge in Detroit for the U.S. Social Forum.
