What are RSS feeds? RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" or "Rich Site Summary". For majority of web users who don't speak in code, it is simply a great way to get headlines from our site (and many others) automatically. RSS is an especially promising technology for progressives and averages citizens. With RSS you can build your own virtual newspaper or newscast from a wide range of sources (blogs, news sites, magazines, wire services, etc.) without having to rely on corporate media giants to decide what is important. To get started, install one of the numerous free software applications or upgrade to a web browser with RSS support such as FireFox. Use the RSS icons on this page to add headlines from The Progessive to your feed reader. (To obtain the address to any of our feeds, click on the RSS icon next to a section and copy the address that appears in your browser's address bar.)
