The author misses the point.

The author misses the point. The Greatest Generation had great faith in God, not themselves. Blessed are the meek, and the Greatest Generation were very meek compared to my Baby Boomer generation. I honor those who taught me virtue, duty, and gratitude.

My grand father was the last survivor of a company in WW2. He was completely destroyed and for what ? Economic interests nothing more. It is till the case now sadly.

Much like other things in

Much like other things in life the term 'greatest generation' is self aggrandizing and cannot be applied to any generation because of its finality. If some generation would be the greatest generation, then where would that leave other generations? It's essentially a prop for that generation and a slap in the face for all others. 'You will never be as great as us.'

It is also a cover for some of the worst political and diplomatic failures in history. 50-80 million people were killed in WWII. How in God's name can you call that representative of a greatest generation? That being said, I do not dishonor the sacrifices, hardships, and perseverance of people during that period of history. I just question the application of the term to a generation that allowed those things to happen.

My grandfather was a humble

My grandfather was a humble man. He loved God, also served in the war and raised a good family. Where you're glorifying rebellion and sin, he glorified God in his obedience.
