One often over-looked film is "Burn" starring Marlon Brando. In story form, it explains the 'modus operandi' of third-world exploitation on a Caribbean island by the first world. Brando's role is very interesting. As a hero at first, he encourages slaves to revolt, only to exploit them in the aftermath. As I recall, he says in explaining the concept to wealthy capitalists on the island, "Why own labor when all you need to do is rent it?"
